Vacation, Pedicures and Frankie Valli

Today was my last work day before a 16 day vacation. Lord, I'm so thankful school is over until January 8th. We had our Christmas breakfast with all the bus drivers this morning after our morning runs. It was really a lot of fun. Everybody brought a dish and we exchanged presents with the person who's name we drew at Thanksgiving. We got a nice increase in our paycheck with a 5% retroactive payraise back to July. It will make Christmas a little nicer.

My secret Santa at work gave me a candle, a desk calendar of Italy and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons-"Back to the Diner." To those of you under 40, you probably don't know who this group is, but to us over 50 crowd they were the popular band before the Beatles. I love their music. I'm listening to it right now as I write this. My darling hubby is taking me to see "Jersey Boys", the Broadway show based on Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, in March. I can't wait.

Oh yeah, the pedicure. I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and a full set of nails. It was worth every penny as I got a massage from the chair I was sitting in while my feet were pampered to the max. Then I got my nails done in a pretty ruby slipper red and had pretty snowflakes painted on my ring fingers. So I am ready for Christmas. I hope all of you are, too.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
